The parts of a steel deck diaphragm will be introduced along with the typical limit states. Concepts related to the seismic design of diaphragms will be presented and then application to steel deck diaphragms will be described. Relevant research provisions along with some mention of the supporting recent research will be examined.Attendees will gain an understanding of steel deck diaphragm behavior, seismic design of steel deck diaphragms, and recent research that has been conducted.
