Seminar Description
ASCE/SEI 7-16 now contains provisions for designers to utilize structural fire engineering as an approved alternative to the century-old prescriptive framework. Structural fire engineering requires the active participation of structural engineers, designing and analyzing the structural system to respond against uncontrolled fire. This seminar will introduce Structural Fire Engineering and illustrate important design considerations from fire development to structural response.The views and opinions expressed in this seminar are those of the speaker(s) and do not necessarily reflect those held by S. Speaker Bio
Kevin A Mueller, PhD, P.E. is a protective design and structural fire engineer at Thornton Tomasetti. He has managed projects across almost all practice sectors, including the Department of State, Department of Defense, Department of Energy, Department of Veteran Affairs, Department of Housing and Urban Development, PANYNJ, Amtrak, the Smithsonian, and several confidential private clients. He is Chair of the ACI Fire Protection Committee (ACI 216.1 standard), and a member of numerous industry committees on structural fire, blast, impact, disaster reconnaissance, and protective design.

Please note a single registration allows you to have one connection. However, a number of people can view and listen to the seminar using one connection
by using an LCD projector (or a large computer monitor) and good computer speakers or a speaker phone.
All attendees, irrespective of the number of registered connections, can earn 0.2 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) or 2.0 professional development hours (PDHs). CEU/PDH certificates are provided free of charge.

- A $15 fee will apply if the seminar registrant wishes to revise the web seminar registration (e.g. switch from one web seminar to another).
- Refunds are limited to 80 percent of fee and must be applied for in writing WITHIN THIRTY DAYS after the scheduled seminar.
